Join Northwest Shoals Community College for our first Run for Reading 5K & Family Fun Run on Sept. 16 on our Shoals Campus! 5K will begin at 7 am; Family Fun Run (1 mile) will begin at 8 am. All proceeds of the Run for Reading 5k will benefit Northwest Shoals Community College’s Adult Education program.
The mission of Adult Education is to engage, educate, and empower adult learners in the community.Using a comprehensive learner-centered approach, Adult Education prides itself in meeting learners wherethey are in life. The Adult Education Program offers education and workforce training that advances literacyskills, English language acquisition, career exploration and identification, employability skills, and citizenship.Education and workforce training result in stackable credentials needed for employment opportunitiesallowing for a better quality of life for participants and their families. Adult Education offerseducation/training in an online format and in classrooms throughout the College’s five-county service area. All services are provided free of charge to students.
