2nd Annual!  After last year's success we're back!

Men's Race - 50 miles!  

We'd like to again invite pro teams to stop by for our race to get in a solid 50 on Great Valley's wide, sweeping oval course.  We again will front-load the payouts to the first 5 placings.   

The Great Valley course is a well-known practice course that has been in use for over 30+ years.  Begininng in early March until each fall, up to 100 racers line up at 6pm on Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons at noon to ride 30 laps/miles at or near race pace.  If you would like to experience the course, or pre-ride the circuit, we recommend taking part on either of these days.   

Race proceeds benefit:   To be determined.  Area racers know that this race director always has at least one worthy charity attached.  Stay tuned! 

PARKING  - ALL RACE Parking is in the usual lot where riders gather every Thursday night.  Enter the lot by taking the turn onto Great Valley Parkway off of Rt. 29 and close to the PA Turnpike exit.  The course is 3-5 min off of the PA Turnpike!  Follow the road to the lot being aware that racing may be taking place (YELLOW LINE RULE IN EFFECT).  There will be a course marshal showing you where to park.  Please stick to the lot where the portable bathrooms are - let's not make the businesses in this part resent us by parking in their lots.
 

Race Course - S/F is near 30 Great Valley Parkway, Malvern, PA 19335.  Race course does the Great Valley oval in the same direction that traffic goes. YELLOW LINE RULE is strictly in effect.

Please listen to the marshalls when they direct you to the parking location.

Women's events - We have worked hard to ensure that women racers have as many opportunities to race as possible.   Please pre-reg!  We feel that it is important there be a Women's Cat 4/5 race in addition to the 1/2/3 race.   Please be sure to put us on your calendar - we need as many women to showup as possible. 

Fine Print/Details:  

$10 Late Fee in effect as of 6/23/23 11:59 PM EST (please register by Friday night).2022 BAR Champions race for free. Email prior to registration and you will be added to the registration. BAR Champions are required to wear their BAR jerseys.Each additional race is $15 if pre registered, $20 day of the race.Payout is 1/2 amount listed if <25 racers in event (exceptions juniors).Race is run rain or shine.Promoter reserves the right to shorten, combine or alter events as needed due to weather, timing and other uncontrollable circumstances (crash delays, injuries, needs of Police, EMTs, Acts of God).Course: 1 Mile, Clockwise, Mostly Flat, 4-corner crit with Free Laps/wheel pit.Maximum field limit is 125 for all races except all Junior races and the Cat 5/Citizens where the limit is 75. Registration opens at 7:00 am.No aero bars.  Approved helmets must be worn..All USA Cycling rules apply. Entry fee includes insurance surcharge of $5.00 for USA Cycling & $10 for Citizens. Promoter reserves the right to combine or cancel races if less than 12 racers register for an event.Masters races for Cats 1-4 only.

Race Results

Results will be posted after the conclusion of each race at a location designated by the race director and announced at the start line by the chief referee. After results have been posted racers will have a 15 minute protest period to resolve any discrepancies. It is the racers’ responsibility to verify their result during this 15 minute protest period. After the 15 minute protest period results will be final and will not be changed afterwards. Any further disputes must be addressed in writing via email to the riders Local Association contact.

Given the ongoing COVID-19 emergency we are watching carefully for continued guidance from USA Cycling.  We take this situation very seriously as the health and safety of the cycling community is our top priority.  We will always full respect and follow USA Cycling's direction to always err on the side of caution and the benefit of public health.

Please stay tuned for our specific COVID racing protocol.  Our plan is to duplicate the protocol implemented by nearby PA USA Cycling - sanctioned criterium events.
