  Fit, Black, and Educated, Inc. JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION VIRTUAL 5K RUN IT - WALK IT - ROLL IT

 

On Saturday, June 17th, 2023, join Fit, Black, and Educated, Inc. for our annual Juneteenth Celebration Virtual 5k run/walk/bike. This event commemorates June 19th, 1865, the date when Union General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas, and issued General Order No. 3, which informed the people of Texas that all enslaved people were now free. This announcement came nearly two and half years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. General Granger's reading of effectively marked the end of chattel slavery in the United States. Join us from wherever you are to celebrate a new beginning and reflect on this historic day.

TRACKING YOUR RUN/WALK: Participants may track their distance using any Global Positioning System (GPS) fitness device (FitBit, Garmin Vivoactive, Apple Watch, etc.) or phone app (Strava, Map My Run, etc.).

 

RESULTS: After registering, results can be submitted through your RunSignUp registration profile by clicking on "Submit Virtual Results".

 

SHIPPING: Shipping begins June 5th and is free for all USA orders. We are currently not accepting international participants due to high shipping costs and wait times.

*Participants have until August 19th, 2023 to complete the race.
