Start Lists & Times
The official start list will be posted on the MWVBC website at www.crankthekanc.com
To avoid impeding vehicular traffic on the Kanc, we must limit gathering at the Start Area so please arrive at the Start Area no earlier than 5-10 minutes before your start time.
Three (3)-person Time-Trial will begin at 8:30 am - all team members must be present at team start time - 2 min intervals in Bib number order.
Solo riders will begin at 9:00am -15 second intervals in Bib number order.
NOTE: All protests must be made to the Race Director at [email protected], prior to or within 24 hours of the results posting on Bikereg.com and CrankTheKanc.com website. NO OTHER PROTEST(S) WILL BE ACCEPTED.
Race Information, T-shirt, and Bib pickups:
Parking lot is located at Kennett Middle School, 176 Main St, in Conway, NH and all racers are required to park at the school. A Service Tent will be setup outside in the parking lot next to the Kennett SAU offices (around the back of the school) where you will pick up your bib, pins and any other race materials (inclement weather may move registration into the School Cafe). There will be a porta-potty outside at the school, bathrooms in the school and at the Start/Finish areas. Registration and Waivers must be executed ONLINE at Bikereg.com.
Riders will then make their way to the NH Fish and Game service garage entrance that is approximately 1/2 mile from the traffic light on the Kancamagus Highway starting at 8:30am TTT and 9:00am solo. Please remember to check the event website for the start list and start times.
There will be adequate signage to direct you from the Kennett Middle School to the Start Area.
The US Forest Service visitors center and visitors center bathrooms are off limits. Please use the porta-potties provided at the Kennett Middle School, START area and also at the FINISH area.
Because of the narrow and winding nature of the highway that the race is held on, THE U.S. FOREST SERVICE AND COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT REQUIRE THAT ANY FAMILY OR SPECTATOR VEHICLES PARK ONLY WHERE THERE IS A PULL-OUT. PARKING BETWEEN THE ROADWAY AND A GUARD RAIL IMPEDES THE NORMAL FLOW OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC, ENDANGERS THE RACERS, AND JEOPARDIZES THE FUTURE PERMITTING OF THE RACE.
The START area is designed to increase safety of all racers from vehicles traveling on the Kancamagus Highway. No racers are allowed to warm up on the Kanc, leading up to or on the course.
Bicycles used in Crank the Kanc must be propelled solely by the rider’s legs moving in a circular motion, without electric or other assistance.
Helmets are required.
This is a public (non-USA Cycling event) all are welcome.
Visit the Crank the Kanc web page for additional event guidelines/rules and information: www.crankthekanc.com
Proceeds benefit the Kennett High School Mountain Bike Team and the Mount Washington Valley Bicycling Club.
