Baby Steps Memorial Run

If you are registering after this date, you can check with packet pickup AFTER the awards are given our and purchase a race shirt for $10 if any shirts are available. 

We want to recognize everyone's loved one so, we ask that you register by the deadline date (8/15/24) to ensure their name(s) are included in our memorial and you receive a race shirt!   THANK YOU TO THOSE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF EARLY REGISTRATION!!!!  Registration fees will increase race day!   GUARANTEED Memorial name submission and shirt order deadlines: AUGUST 15, 2024 IS THE DEADLINE TO SUBMIT MEMORIAL NAMES AND ORDER SHIRTS THIS YEAR! Due to planning the shirt design and printing, we cannot make any exceptions! All participants who pre-register online by our deadline specified each year (8/15/24) will have their loved ones name included on the race shirt design and any memorial pieces for the event.  Please be sure to double check your spelling when you register!  Memorial items may include a "WE REMEMBER THEM" sign to honor your loved one that is displayed throughout the course.  We will recycle the signs each year to save on printing cost so, we ask that you please do not take signs with you from the run.  You are welcome to take pictures! *we do order a few extra shirts so these will be available on a first come - first serve basis.     PACKET PICKUP - The Amelia Center - 1513 4th Ave S - Birmingham, AL 35233 TBD We cannot extend these times due to the hours of The Amelia Center  *we encourage you to designate one person per team to pick up your race packets. If you are not on a team but have several people you can pick up for that's ok too!  Please text 205-603-6049 with your team name (or list of participants) and time you would like to pick up packets. Before you come, please make sure we have responded that the time is ok. 

 

Baby Steps Supporter,   Children's Hospital and the Baby Steps Memorial Run Committee have been working hard to make the 2024 memorial run the best in our 15 year event history!  We are VERY excited to host the 2024 fundraiser at Homestead Hollow in Springville, AL. We had wonderful feedback from our new race location!   We are so excited to see each of you in person for this special memorial honoring your loved ones!   Last year, the race helped fund an amazing renovation at The Amelia Center.  The Amelia Center has been providing services for over 25 years and this renovation was much needed to help provide grieving families with a comfortable environment as they navigate through loss.  We cannot wait to provide them support again to continue their amazing work!   RACE DAY INFORMATION Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Homestead Hollow 1161 Murphrees Valley Road Springville, AL 35146 *plan to arrive no later than 7:30!  We may need to block off the entrance at this time for everyone's safety   7am Same Day Registration and Packet Pickup  8am 5K START 8:15 am FUN RUN START   We know sometimes you can't always make it to the event.  We will still honor your loved one on our race shirts!  Can't make it, participate virtually!  Get out with your family/friends and celebrate your loved one! Run, walk, ride, hike, eat - whatever you feel is best for your family!      Post-Race: 
Awards will be given for the following:  5K (chip timed) - 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in gender/age categories
FUN RUN - 1st, 2nd and 3rd places
TOP 3 ONLINE Fundraisers - be sure to set up your fundraiser page

  This race could not take place without the Baby Steps Race Committee, each participant, volunteer and business sponsors!  BIG SHOUT OUT to our new committee members!!! You'll get to meet them at the race! We would also like to thank Homestead Hollow for allowing us to host the race on their beautiful property! HEALTH GUIDELINES 

Mask are welcome, but not requiredYou must stay home if you show any symptoms of illness or you have tested positive for COVID within 5 days of the eventYou are required to wear a mask if you have been exposed to a confirmed case of COVID within 10 days of the raceWe will have hand sanitizer at the race.  However, please help us by practicing basic health and hygiene practices like handwashing!
