About the event
Join the excitement of the Annual Sap Run, a point-to-point race beginning in the charming Swanton Village and culminating on Main Street amidst the vibrant Vermont Maple Festival in Downtown St. Albans. This 8.5-mile run is also part of the esteemed Triple Crown Series, which includes the Milk Run in Enosburg and the Egg Run in Fairfax. Participants completing all three events are eligible for special prizes. The race forms an integral part of the Vermont Maple Festival, a celebration of the state's renowned maple syrup industry. Finish the run and immerse yourself in the festival's attractions, such as food trucks, maple donuts, maple cotton candy, and maple creemees, along with craft and art shows, music, and more.
Race day registration takes place at the Swanton Public Library, and the race follows the traditional route starting by the park in Swanton Village, proceeding south on Route 7, and finishing in front of Taylor Park in St. Albans. While the main road will remain open to traffic, safety measures include a lead and tail vehicle. Runners should remain alert to traffic conditions and intersections.
Enjoy the support of aid stations along the course, providing water, Gatorade, and unique shots of pure maple syrup. For convenience, buses will transport runners from St. Albans to Swanton prior to the race start, with pick-up at Hudson Street behind city hall.
Prepare for the morning chill with designated bags for warm-up clothing, available at the start and transported to the finish line. Celebrate your accomplishment with maple syrup awards for top finishers and age-group winners. The first 150 registrants will receive a commemorative T-shirt, adding a tangible memory to the experience.
