The Osaka Yodogawa Citizens' Marathon is a unique event created by and for the citizens of Osaka. Emphasizing participation and completion over competition, this marathon is open to people of all ages and genders. It is Japan’s first marathon organized entirely by local citizens and takes place exclusively on a scenic riverbed. Join us for a memorable and inclusive running experience in the heart of the city of Osaka.

This is an urban marathon that takes place with consideration for the beautiful natural environment. Enjoy the refreshing nature of the Yodogawa River basin, which feels as if fairies gather there. In the full marathon, aim to finish by passing through the Kemakomon and crossing the Yodogawa Great Weir, a path normally not accessible!
