FARM Rx 5k Fundraiser

The 2nd Annual FARM Rx 5k is a fundraiser event for FARM Rx, a produce prescription program at the Athens Farmers Market that gives low-income families with diet-related illnesses access to educational classes, healthcare check-ups, and weekly bags of locally-grown fruits and vegetables. Here is a link to our website for more detailed information about how the program works. 

The race will begin at Bishop Park; you'll follow our well-marked route through the historic neighborhoods of Normaltown, circling back to the park for the finish line and awards. We encourage you to explore the farmers market after the race! We have coffee vendors, food trucks, local produce, meat, eggs, breads and pasteries, jewlery, clothing, art, and pottery! Your ticket includes a free beer at Athentic Brewing Company, which is walking (or running!) distance from the market. Celebrate spring-time, good food, and health equity with us at AFM!

Event details and schedule

7:00: Check-in, recieve bib, T-shirt, and beer voucher

7:15: Runners finish check-in and get to starting line of the race. Please arrive by 7am to check-in for race.

7:30: Race begins!

8:30: Award Show
