5260 runners took part in the different races organzied in Lugano this weekend. This was the first edition of the half marathon. The 30 km race was changed into a more traditional half marathon.
Half Marathon
Kipchoge Cosmas Jairus scored victory with a time of 01:00:55. He finished 2 seconds ahead of Nicholas Mulinge Makau. Rounding out the top three was Tadesse Abraham with a time of 01:01:24.
For the women, Dekeb Haylemariyam Muliye got a win, finishing with a time of 01:09:45 , ahead of Charity Kiprop (01:12:34). The third place went to Gladys Kataron Kiplagat with a time of 01:13:18.

City 10 km
Xavier Chevrier won the race with a time of 00:29:50. René Cunéaz secured second in this year’s race with a time of 00:30:34Alessandro Turroni got the third place in 00:32:12.
For the women, it was Manuela Maffongelli who took the top spot in 00:39:08 . She bested Camilla Fontana who crossed the finish line 2 minutes 17 seconds behind her. Géraldine Fournier got the third place in 00:42:40.
