Marathon results
Shingo Igarashi (2:13:15) set a personal best and snapped a course record on way to winning the 64th annual Katsuta Marathon in Hitachinaka, Japan.
He shaved 31 seconds from his PR and over a minute and a half off the previous course record which had stood for the past 16 years.
Naoki Inoue took second with a time of 2:15:05.
Norio Kamijo finished a distance third at 2:20:15.
For the women, it was Kana Kurosawa (2:43:40) claiming victory.
Yuka Mikami (2:46:22) managed to hold off Minami Yamanouchi (2:46:45) for second.
