WYO131 Gravel Grinder - September 7, 2024 @ Lander, WY
A Lander Cycling Club event held under permits from the USFS and BLM
Step back into the Wild West and immerse yourself in the high desert, historic mining towns, and breath-taking views in Wyoming’s Wind River Country.
The 13 mile route is for everyone and every bike! This is a classic Lander road ride on tarmac.
The 45 mile route is perfect for those who are new to gravel and want to see what all the fuss / fun is about.
The 75 mile route is a great option for those who aren’t quite ready to tackle the whole WYO131 just yet - same start as the full distance, but turns back before the misery really sets in!
The 131 mile route is the ultimate bucket-list gravel ride. This is not a ride for beginners. There will be pain and suffering. There will be cut off times. Some people will not finish. You’ll need hard-core gravel racing and endurance experience before taking on this route. There are several bail-points and there will be a SAG car.
Aid stations will be stocked with water and snacks, and toilets will be available. There will be 1 station for the 45-mile route, 3 for the 75-mile and 5 for the 131-mile.
There is FREE on-site camping available at Lander City Park all week. This is a busy location so plan accordingly.
Location: The event takes place in beautiful Lander, Wy located at the southern tip of the Wind River Range, just west of Jackson, WY and south of the Big Horn Mountains. Lander is ranked as one of the best outdoor towns in America, and rightfully so. Internationally known for its rock climbing and mountain biking opportunities, we've finally let the cat out of the bag that we have 5-star gravel as well. Gravel lovers will enjoy the area’s stunning Wind River Range, and the Popo Agie River that runs through town. When you’re finished riding, explore Lander’s beautiful downtown by fueling up in our charming downtown where you can find our local brewery, restaurants, bars, and shopping.
