The Down Under 135 will start in a picnic ground on the outskirts of Bacchus Marsh Victoria.

Leaving the MacKenzie Flat picnic ground runners will make their way solo along the Lergerderg River as they enter through the gorge area to Mt Blackwood. The Lerderderg Gorge section will bite early with a series tough technical climbs and descents sapping even the most hardened runners on fresh legs, crews will not have access to runners until 25 km mark due no access points.

After Mt Blackwood the runners will drop back into the gorge onto technical single trail along the river to O'Briens Crossing (38 km) then on to the Great Dividing Trail (GDT) to the gold mining town of Blackwood (50 km).

The first of the DU event hubs will be located at Blackwood Caravan Park (DU2) where crews and runners will have access to facilities and it is also this location 1 pacer has the OPTION to join their runner.

Runners will then continue on the GDT through to Nolans Creek Picnic Ground (DU3) 62 km en-route to Daylesford (DU4) 90 km.
Daylesford is located at the foothills of the Great Dividing Range is famous for not only being a gold mining town but also spa country. The next section sees the runners travelling along the Gold Diggings Track to Hepburn Springs on a sweet single trail to the tiny town of Dry Diggings (DU5) 109 km and our turnaround point.

The 109 km return will have all original DU event hubs in place with an extra 2 being located at O'Briens Crossing (175 km) and Mt Blackwood (189 km) to assist the weary.
