Bill Oliver 5K Race & 1 Mile Run for Fun

Runners and Friends:

The Riverton 4th of July Committee’s “Bill Oliver 5K Race and 1 Mile Run for Fun” is ready for another strong showing in 2023!

Races will be held on Monday, July 4th. The 5K race will start at 8 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Family Center, located at Fourth Street and Linden Avenue in Riverton. The 1 Mile Run for Fun will start at 9:30 a.m. on Second Street, near the intersection with Cinnaminson Street.

The ADVANCE registration fee is $30 for the 5K Race and $10 for the 1 Mile Run for Fun. The Deadline for ADVANCE registration is Sunday June 25, 2023 at 11:59 PM. Race bibs and commemorative race shirts can be picked up at the front porch of 616 Main Street Riverton, NJ from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday July 1st, Sunday July 2nd, and Monday July 3rd, OR starting at 6:30 a.m. on race day (July 4th) at the Sacred Heart Family Center Gymnasium.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE COMMEMORATIVE RACE SHIRTS ARE ONLY GUARANTEED FOR THE FIRST 300 EVENT REGISTRANTS.   

There will also be IN-PERSON/DAY OF EVENT Registrations on July 4th from 6:30 AM to 7:45 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Family Center Gymnasium for the 5K Event, and until 9 a.m. for the 1 Mile Run for Fun. The DAY OF EVENT registration fees are the same as the ADVANCE registration fees.

Both events are timed events using chips on the bibs of the participants.  The 5K Event Course is USATF-CERTIFIED.

We can’t wait to see a full field of runners for these events in 2023. Bring your family and friends, and have fun cruising the shady, spectator-lined routes through Riverton on The 4th of July!

****ADDITIONAL NOTES:

The 5K Race will start at 8 AM on 4th St. at the corner with Linden Ave.  The 1-Mile Run for Fun will start at 9:30 AM on 2nd St., between Howard St. and Cinnaminson St.

For last year’s 5K participants who were unfortunately slowed or stopped by the passing of the light rail train at the Main St. crossing, we sincerely apologize for this incident.  We assure you that we are working with New Jersey Light Rail Transit System to avoid a repeat of this.
