About the event
Welcome to the fourth annual Alma Glengravel Ramble presented by Avalon Pontoons!
The Glengravel tour is back again for 2024! Sign up for a distance that works for you, and please invite your friends to join in the fun! Rider check-in will be on the west side of Terry's Cycle from 8:00 - 10:00 a.m. on May 18.
NEW for 2024:
Three route distances: 10 miles, 31 miles, and 53 miles--all with at least one on-course aid station. Our local gravel roads are generally on the hard-packed clay end of the gravel spectrum (although in mid-May I might expect some soft spots)! We're trying on a poker run format! All riders will receive playing cards as they progress on their respective routes. Turn your cards in when you take a picture at our FINISHER banner behind Terry's Cycle, and the best 5-card hands will win prizes! Up for grabs:$100 gift card to Terry's Cycle$50 gift card to Terry's Cycle…more to come!If you register by APRIL 20 we can guarantee your Glengravel t-shirt size (which you'll select when you register and pick up on May 18). If you register after April 20 we will do our best to have a range of sizes available at check-in, but we're not in the t-shirt business and will only order a limited number of overruns. So, thank you for registering (quickly) and understanding!
Registration for the Glengravel is capped at 200 riders total.
The Glengravel is a tour so there is no formal start time and all roads are open to traffic. Rider check-in is between 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. behind Terry's Cycle. The course will be marked on Friday night and both .gpx files and paper maps will be available for riders. Riders must follow all applicable rules of the road. Please plan to be self-sufficient on course. Stop if you see someone in need. Sag support is a phone call away. Light mechanical assistance is available at the Lumberjack Park aid station. Be safe out there!
Looking for a place to stay? Check out The 3one3 Boutique Hotel in downtown Alma, right next to Terry's Cycle where you'll check in on May 18! All rooms are on the first floor and have ample space to store your bike.
All registrants receive:
$15 in food vouchers good at the Alma Brewing Company, Ballyhoo Books & Brew, and Block House in downtown Alma. These three $5 vouchers are good only on May 18, 2024. THANK YOU for supporting our local businesses while you're in town!Food/nutritional items (in your swag bags and at the on-course aid stations)A custom Avalon Pontoons / Alma Glengravel Ramble water bottleAn event t-shirt (if you sign up by March 29)...and much more!If you're interested in ordering a long sleeve jersey please do so below by March 29 using the option on BikeReg. These fit SMALL so I would recommend ordering at least one full size larger for a snug fit, and at least two sizes larger if you'd like a more comfortable fit. (For reference, I'm typically a large but the large sample I have on-hand fits much more like a medium.) Sleeve length is great:
This non-competitive fun ride is permitted through USA Cycling (permit number 2024-8860).
