About the event

Immerse yourself in a captivating 20-mile run perfect for preparing for your next marathon or ultra marathon. This scenic route offers a delightful blend of approximately 75% tarmac and 25% farm trails, providing varied surfaces for an exciting challenge. With rolling terrain and a total elevation gain of 1,150 feet, the course promises manageable climbs without major hills. The adventure begins at Cargilfield School on Gamekeeper’s Road, leading participants through the picturesque Dalmeny Estate. You'll explore the charming town of South Queensferry, cross the iconic Forth Road Bridge, and conclude with a scenic return to Cramond. Although the roads will remain open, runners are advised to exercise caution.

To stay hydrated, water stations are strategically placed at miles 5.5, 10.5, and 14.5, but it's recommended to carry your own water bottle for refills. The clearly marked and marshalled route ensures a smooth experience.

This event is more than just a run; it supports The MS Society Scotland as a fundraising initiative, with participation limited to 800 entries.

Runners can choose from three wave starts to suit their pace:

- The early wave at 8.30am is for those planning a mix of running and walking, expecting to complete the course in 4 to 4.5 hours. Note that some marshal points may be unmanned, but the route is well-marked.
- The 9am wave is designed for runners targeting a 3 to 4-hour finish.
- The 9.30am wave is perfect for those aiming to finish in under 3 hours.
